Sophie verses a Soft Pretzel

So since Sophie is seriously interested in everything I eat, and has been turning her little button nose up at everything I offer her (baby-food wise) I figured I would let her try my pretzel while out with my birthday boy. (to see his post click here) The following occurred:

Hey Mommy, whatcha got?

Ooooh what is this?!

Nom nom nom
(protective big brother freaks out, runs over to see if she's ok, haha. "she can't eat that Mommy!!")

Oh yeah this is nice....

Hey!  give it back!! that thing rocked!!


Conclusion. My food just tastes better than baby food :)

Sophie verses Gerber Bananas

So, I only have Miss Sophie review things she tries for the 1st time. We have done fresh bananas several times now. Tonight, however, we opted to try Gerber. About 1/4 way into the jar, it was obvious, Sophie needed to let her readers know how these new bananas tasted.

 

"oh-my-gosh!! what is this?"

"ooohhhhh tart, mommy"

"it's NOT bananas!! oh for crying out loud!"

"why do you keep shoving this in??"

"what are doing?! take it away!!"

-shudder- "tart aftertaste mommy, please no more"

"maybe pursing the lips will stop that returning spoon"

 

She consumed about 1/2 the container and refused to eat anymore.

HAPPY 6 MONTHS SOPHIE!!!!!!!!

Sophie turned 6months old today! I am shocked at how fast that went. As a special treat Sophie got to review a cupcake and Apple/Banana juice from Gerber.

 

 

I got her a lil toy for her gift and her 1st cuppy. In the cup is 2oz of juice. The cupcake is yellow w/whipped frosting. (I-of course-removed the sugar flowers)

Getting ready.....

"Ohhh mommy! What is THAT?!"

"uhhhh it's all squishy"

"let me lick it"

"Mmmm not bad"

"ok, ok this stuff is good. Yes, I could see-"

"Oh No!! Mommy it's on my hand!"

"I will destroy you..you crazy squishy yummy!"

"I think it learned it's lesson"

"Oh my goodness!! I hurt my squishy yummy!! Mommy!!"

"whew, good thing my dress caught it!"

"that rocked Mommy but next time, tell it NOT to get on me!"

"ok,I'll take a lil sip but I mainly like chewing on it. Ok? Deal?"

I let her have it throughout our shopping trip, but she never consumed it. Just chewed the spout.

Sophie verses A Plum

Today, as I was giving a plum to another one of my kids, my oldest asked if Sophie was allowed to try it too. She quickly ran off to get the camera so we could let Sophie document this review for you!

"hmm mommy, I don't really taste anything"

(I cut it open)
"mmmm-lick"

"it's fun to suck on, I guess"

"few more seconds please"


And she was done. I'd say plums were "meh" to her. She wasn't opposed but wasn't overjoyed either. She's take 'em or leave 'em.

Sophie verses Carrots

Sophie vs Sweet Potatoes

Well, cereal was a huge flop. She didn't want any part of it, so instead of letting her taste it for the next 3 days, I just skipped a few days of solids. Next up, we'll try sweet potatoes... wish her luck!

 

Weird container Mommy? What have you got me into now? And a bib?! This must be serious..

Very thin.. watery almost... hmmmm (Gerber stage 1 is apparently a lot thinner than I have been giving her)

Let me think about this...

YES, Mommy YES!! This is a winner





Sweet Potatoes=HIT
She loved this. See the container up there in the 1st pic? She ate about 3/4 of it before she lost interest.
 

Sophie vs Wheat Cereal

Ingredients:
4T Milk
2T Cereal

Oh Mommy, I don't know about this..
